In recent weeks, the national conversation regarding racism and social injustice has been a catalyst for change throughout the country. After much reflection, the Master Community Association (MCA) has announced it is taking steps to remove the name “Stapleton” from the community and its operations. Brookfield Properties supports the decision of the MCA and look forward to working collaboratively with the City of Denver, the MCA and other community partners to help facilitate the renaming process.
While the renaming process may take some time to implement across all platforms, we will work in partnership with the MCA and the City of Denver to reconcile this long-standing concern. We look forward to supporting a new name that will celebrate the 30,000-plus residents, 12 neighborhoods, and countless businesses that have transformed the site of a former airport into Denver’s most successful master planned community. Over the last 20 years, we’ve created a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive community that people from all backgrounds and beliefs call “home.” Together, we will continue in creating and evolving this lively community.
