In July, RTD acquired 11.6 acres of land from Forest City (now Brookfield Properties) to complete the assemblage of land for Central Park Station.  Central Park Station is a 20 acre multimodal transportation facility at Smith Road and Uinta, which will include a commuter rail station, bus transfer facility and Park-n-Ride lots.

The station will be part of the 23-mile East Corridor commuter rail line, which will operate between Denver Union Station and Denver International Airport (DIA).  The station, scheduled for completion in January 2016, will be a significant activity center, serving as a key Park-n-Ride for airport travelers (1,500 spaces), as well as one of RTD’s largest bus transfer facilities.
