Annual Tribute to Black Women

For over forty years, volunteer-run CBWPA has been honoring Black women and teens from all walks of life.  This year they are honoring Black women who are Holding Up Democracy!! These are Black women leaders who are champions of democracy and have demonstrated authentic and meaningful work in a community actively engaged in the electoral process. They will have special remarks from Rep. Maxine Waters and Rep. Ayanna Presley!! 

They are also honoring women in the following categories: Art, Community, Education, Politics, Public Health, Youth, and Legend. They include:

  • Art Category: Adri Norris
  • Community: Topazz McBride
  • Education: Antoinette Foster
  • Politics: Judge Jill Dorancy
  • Public Health: Dr. Sheila Davis
  • Youth: Aniya Beasley
  • Legend: Cleo Parker-Robinson

When: Saturday, October 9 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (doors open at 11:00 am, program begins at 12:00 pm)
